Libros Valor/Valor Books is our new imprint for local interest, fiction, poetry and children’s books on Mexican and Latin American themes.

We will be launching Libros Valor/Valor Books with eBook re-releases of the now out of print “Old” series by Mazatlán author Ethel Stockton.

Stockton was in her eighties when she began chronicling the adventures of Annaliz as she embraces her new life in Mexico while facing the challenges of an aging body. An unflinching look at the challenges of aging in a series of witty and wise small novels have long made Stockton’s “Old” books a local favorite, but nearly unknown outside of the small distribution they received through her self-publications. Before she passed away in late 2010, Stockton’s fifth book in the series was in manuscript. Legal restrictions prevent us from simply reprinting the now nearly impossible to obtain earlier editions, but as books deserving a larger audience, we will be releasing the first four as e-books and an eBook and print edition of her unpublished fifth novel ­­­­­­— “Too Old For This” ­­­­­­—in early 2012.
